The Albemarle School baseball team defeated Hobgood Academy 14-1 in four innings at Knobbs Creek Recreation Center Thursday.
The Colts (5-5, 5-4 Tarheel Independent Conference) have won two of their last three conference games.
Luke Gray went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI, Damauri Whidbee was credited with two RBI, Tanner Simpson went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI, Raymond Hooper and Brenner Ranhorn each had two hits with a RBI, Logan Dunn had a hit and scored three runs, while Keith Lane and Cole Langley each posted a hit with a RBI in the victory.
Langley pitched four innings, gave up seven hits, an earned run, three walks and seven strikeouts in the win.
Hobgood falls to 3-8 overall and 1-8 in the conference.
John A. Holmes 2, Manteo 1: Edenton (12-3, 6-0 Albemarle Athletic Conference) edged the Redskins (7-7, 3-5 AAC) in the conference game at Manteo High School Thursday.
The Aces scored two runs in the fifth inning.
Chris Morris went 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI, Davis Halstead had a hit with a RBI, Lincoln Ellis had a double in the win.
Chace Kelly pitched 5 1/3 innings, gave up two hits, an earned run, three walks and posted eight strikeouts for the win, while Caleb Bunch pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief, gave up two hits, no runs and registered two strikeouts to earn the save.
Manteo scored a run in the sixth inning.
Currituck 6, Gates 0: Currituck (11-3) earned the non-conference win at home Thursday night.
Cole Bates went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI, William Langley went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, a home run, a double and a RBI and Jackson Gay was credited with a RBI.
Cannon Pickell pitched six innings, gave up one hit with six walks and posted 12 strikeouts, while Derek Whitehurst pitch an inning, did not give up a hit, and posted a strikeout.
Gates (11-5) returns to game action Tuesday at Camden.
Princess Anne 13, First Flight 0: The Nighthawks (11-4) were shut out by the Cavaliers in Virginia Beach, Virginia Thursday in five innings.
Princess Anne pitchers Jordan Irizarry and Gavyn Pifer did not surrender a hit to the Nighthawks.
Clayton Robbins went 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBI for the Cavaliers.
Currituck 9, Perquimans 0: Currituck (9-3) defeated the Lady Pirates (0-10) at Currituck Thursday.
Camden 2, Chocowinity-Southside 0: The Lady Bruins (8-6-3) earned the win at Southside Thursday night.
Manteo 3, Northeastern 0: Manteo (10-3) secured the non-conference win at Northeastern Thursday.
Keylin Zavala paced Manteo with two goals with an assist, while Libby Roberston scored in the win.
NHS (3-8-1) returns to action Monday on the road against Currituck.
Currituck 21, Gates 0: Currituck (10-2) cruised to the non-conference victory in three innings Thursday at Currituck.
Layla Cartwright hit a home run with two runs scored and five RBI, Shelbey Pippin went 3-for-3 with four runs scored and two RBI, Faith Hughes went 2-for-3 with four runs scored and two RBI, Michelle Mixon had two hits with a RBI, Ashlyn Richards had three hits with a RBI and Reagan Parker posted a hit with a RBI in the win.
Hobgood Academy 9, Albemarle School 3: The Lady Colts (1-9, 1-8 Tarheel Independent Conference) lost the league game at South Park Sports Complex Thursday.
Hobgood Academy improves to 2-9 overall and 2-8 in the league.
