HERTFORD — The Perquimans softball team defeated Pasquotank 16-0 in five innings Monday at Perquimans County High School.

Perquimans' McKayle Knapp went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a double and four RBI, Summer Christian had a hit with three RBI, while Alli Copeland went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a double and two RBI in the win.

Jewel Benton, Megan Denson and Abby Todd all had two hits with a RBI, Maci Denson, Kaitlyn Votava and Faith Christian each had a hit with a RBI, while Kaileigh Nixon had a hit with three runs scored.

Benton also pitched three innings and did not give up a run or a hit and posted four strikeouts in the win.

The Lady Panthers fall to 0-3 on the season.

Camden 13, Currituck 2: Camden (5-0) defeated Currituck (2-1) in a non-conference game Monday in six innings.

Skylar Hyatt went 3-for-4 with four RBI, Kamryn Nash went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, a double and three RBI, Taniya Swinson went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a RBI, while Hailey Bunting and Carleigh Simmons each had a hit with two RBI.

Bunting's hit was a double.

Bunting also pitched six innings in the circle, gave up four hits, two runs, a walk and posted seven strikeouts in the win.

Currituck's Ashlyn Richards had a hit with a RBI, Faith Hughes went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, while Shelby Pippin was credited with a RBI.

GIRLS SOCCER

Northeastern 8, Perquimans 0: Northeastern (1-3-0) secured its first win of the season at home Monday.

Abigail Midgette and Lizbeth Rodriguez-Roman scored three goals each, while Olivia Sanders scored two goals for Northeastern .

Perquimans (0-3-0) takes on Pasquotank today.

John A. Holmes 7, Cape Hatteras 0: Edenton (2-0-0) secured the non-conference win at the John A. Holmes soccer complex Monday.

Malorie Gonzalez paced the Lady Aces with three goals and two assists, Jessica Copeland followed with two goals, while Abigail Faircloth and Jamie Hamm each scored in the win.

Anna Bass made eight saves for the shutout win.

Cape Hatteras (0-2) hosts Camden Thursday.

Manteo 2, Camden 1: The Lady Bruins (1-3-1, 0-2-0 Albemarle Athletic Conference lost the league match to the Lady Redskins (2-0-0, 2-0-0 AAC) at Manteo Monday.

Camryn Creef and Keylin Zavala scored for Manteo in the win.

BASEBALL

John A. Holmes 13, Northeastern 5: The Aces (5-0) knocked off the Eagles at Northeastern Monday.

Edenton's Chace Kelley went 2-for-5 with a double, three runs scored and two RBI, Davis Halstead, and Ryan White each had a hit with a RBI, Parker Clayton went 2-for-3 with a run scored, Wes Privott went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, Chris Morris went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored and Ethan Hughson was credited with a RBI in the win.

Kelly also pitched four innings, gave up five hits, three runs, no earned runs and recorded four strikeouts.

Northeastern (1-3) was swept in the two-game season series with John A. Holmes.

Currituck 9, Camden 2: The Knights (3-2) earned their third consecutive win on the season at Camden County High School Monday.

Cannon Pickell went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, Cole Bates went 2-for-3 with a double, a RBI and a run scored, Joseph Reynolds went 1-for-2 with a run scored and two RBI, Conner Hamilton had a hit with two RBI, Austin Warren had a hit with a RBI, Austin Pace was credited with a RBI and William Langley was credited with two RBI in the win.

Currituck's Derek Whitehurst pitched four innings, gave up three hits, an earned run, three walks and posted three strikeouts, Langley pitched a scoreless inning with two strikeouts, while Hamilton went two innings, gave up a hit, an earned run, two walks and posted six strikeouts.

Camden's Wyatt Norfleet had a double with a RBI, Dylan Jordan went 2-for-2 with a run scored, while Koleton Clark was credited with a RBI.

Camden (1-4) travels to Hertford County for a non-conference game today.

Perquimans 12, Pasquotank 0: The Pirates (4-1) earned the non-conference win at home in five innings Monday.

Perquimans' Tyler Futrell hit a home run with two runs scored and four RBI, Braden Jordan went 2-for-4 with a run scored, a double and two RBI, Chase Ward went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a double and a RBI, Jacob Meads and Jacob Godfrey each posted a hit with a RBI, while Tanner Thach went 2-for-4 with a double.

Jordan also pitched three innings, gave up three hits, no earned runs, three walks and posted four strikeouts.

Pasquotank (1-2) hosts Perquimans today.

Albemarle School 4, Terra Ceia Christian 0: The Colts earned the win Monday.

Tanner Simpson posted a hit with a run scored and two RBI, while Brenner Ranhorn and Cole Langley both went 2-for-4 with a RBI in the win.

Langley had a double in the contest.

Simpson also pitched six innings, gave up a hit, three walks, no runs and posted 14 strikeouts.
