MACU men falls to The Citadel in basketball

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Mid-Atlantic Christian men’s basketball team lost to The Citadel 148-75 Monday evening at McAlister Field House on the campus of The Citadel.

The game was designated as an exhibition for MACU, while The Citadel (1-1), an NCAA Division I program, counts the game to its overall record.

Aaron Scott led MACU with 13 points, 12 rebounds and a block in 22 minutes of action.

Alex Stanley, who played his high school basketball at Pasquotank, scored 12 points with five rebounds and an assist in 16 minutes.

Jacolby Williamson added 12 points with three rebounds in 14 minutes on the floor.

The Bulldogs had eight players score at least 10 points in the win.

Kaiden Rice led The Citadel with 24 points, while Matt Frierson followed with 15 points.

The Bulldogs shot 58.2 percent from the field and shot 45.1 (23 of 51) from behind the 3-point line.

MACU returns to action Thursday on the road as it will face Chowan University.
