As a new era of Elizabeth City State football begins under first-year head coach Anthony Jones, the team now knows who they will face in the upcoming season.

Jones will look to begin the process of turning around a program that went 4-6 overall and 2-4 in conference play in 2017.

The Vikings released their 10-game schedule for the 2018 season on Thursday, as the schedule features four home games, five road games and one neutral site contest.

The team opens their season against Central State (Oh.) on Sept. 1 at Roebuck Stadium for military and first responders appreciation day.

ECSU picked up one of their four wins last season over the Marauders on the road in last year’s season-opener.

The team then hits the road for three games, a road contest against UNC Pembroke, the Down East Vikings Classic in Rocky Mount against Winston-Salem State and then a road game against Fayetteville State to open Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association play.

ECSU then hosts Saint Augustine’s on Sept. 29 for their community appreciation game, before hitting the road for contest against the 2017 CIAA champions Virginia State and a trip to Lincoln (Pa.) to face the Lions.

The Vikings return home Oct. 20 as they host Chowan for the Think Pink Game before hosting Virginia Union the following week for homecoming and senior day.

The team wraps up the regular season on the road Nov. 3 against Bowie State.

The CIAA championship game is schedule for Nov. 10 in Salem, Va.
