Four students from Perquimans County Middle School were recognized for their wins in the seven-county “What Patriotism Means to Me” essay contest conducted by the Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 293. Winners included MacKenzie Davenport, 7th grade, 3rd place; Tashyra Ford, 7th grade, 2nd place; Miles Horton, 7th grade, 1st place; and Kylie Oraczewski, 8th grade, 2nd place.
