District recognizes Employess of Week

Charlotte Pureza and Cleon Cunningham, both employees at Pasquotank County High School, have been named Employees of the Week for Jan. 29-Feb. 2.

In addition, Misty Overton has been named ECPPS Superstar for Transportation.

Pureza, a guidance counselor, is Certified Employee of the Week. She has been employed with ECPPS since October 1999.

“Ms. Pureza performs her tasks with great care for the students and staff," states a school district news release. "She goes above and beyond expectations on a daily basis to counsel students with compassion and professionalism. Ms. Pureza has worked diligently with student scheduling as well as with the exam schedule preparation."

Cunningham, the head custodian at Pasquotank County High School, was named Non-Certified Employee of the Week. He has been employed with ECPPS since August 1997.

"Mr. Cunningham exemplifies excellence and pride in his work on a daily basis," states a school district news release. "PCHS receives many compliments on the cleanliness of the building, which is a direct result of the leadership and dedication of Mr. Cunningham. He is very visible throughout the building and truly enjoys any opportunity to interact with the students."

Overton serves as an assistant for the ECPPS Transportation Department. She has been employed with the district since October 2009.

"Ms. Overton is a joy to work with and is always willing to learn new tasks. She does a great job finding substitute bus drivers when needed, often driving routes herself," states a school district news release. "The drivers all have a great working relationship with Ms. Overton."

Jersey Mike’s Subs and Page After Page are the week’s business supporters for the Employee of the Week program.
