Pitts Chapel AME Zion. The Rev. Anita Hardle, Robert Overton, the Rev. Beverly Mercer and the Rev. Freddie Godfry will be the speakers for the church’s “Faith, Love, Joy, Hope” event at 2:30 p.m. 

New Middle Swamp MBC .Dr. Thomas Conway, chancellor at Elizabeth City State University, will be the speaker for ECSU Day at 11 a.m. 

Riddick Grove Baptist Church. Nicole Spencer will be the speaker for the morning worship service at 11:30 a.m.

Wilson Grove AME Zion. Mrs Bryant of Bay Branch A.M.E Zion Church will be the speaker for the Youth Day celebration at 11 a.m. Because it’s Super Bowl Sunday, attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite team’s jersey.


Eastern Star COGIC. Pastor Antonio M. Williams of Palmyra Missionary Baptist Church will be the speaker at 7 p.m. 


Philadelphia MBC. Pastor Tyrone Smith of New Providence Church will be the speaker for the trustees, deacons and deaconesses’ anniversary Sunday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. 

Samuel Chapel MBC. The church will host a “Love” celebration event for Deaconess Andrea Taylor Combs Sunday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. 

Eastern Star COCIG. Pastor Tony Rice of New Beginning Fellowship Church will be the speaker for the service Sunday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. 

Christ Episcopal. Eddie Buffaloe, Elizabeth City chief of police, will be the speaker for the church’s celebration of Absalom Jones, the first African-American priest in the Episcopal Church, Sunday, Feb. 11 at 10:30 a.m. 

Christ Episcopal. The women of the church will present a “Hearts and Flowers” card party and luncheon Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 200 South McMorrine Street. The event will feature board games, a meal with dessert. Tickets are $25 and available at the volunteer office and must be purchased by Tuesday, Feb. 6. Contact: 338-1686.

Eastern Star COGIC. Pastor Elder Wilbert Tatem of Soul Chain Ministries Church of God in Christ in Edenton will be the speaker for the service Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. 

Mt. Lebanon AME Zion. The church’s Men of Zion Ministry will host its 4th annual Sports Challenge and Student Recognition Banquet Saturday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. Gregory Harrell, who played in the NFL for both the San Diego Chargers and Los Angeles Raiders, will be the speaker. Providence MBC. Joyce M. Mitchell, president of the Democratic Women of North Carolina, will be the speaker for the church’s annual Black History Month celebration Sunday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. Attendees encouraged to wear African attire.

Eastern Star Church of God In Christ. The church offers pastoral teaching sessions every Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Hertford UMC. The Lord’s Table Soup Kitchen is held in the fellowship hall every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Greater Faith Assembly of Christ. The church holds weekly worship services every Saturday with Sabbath School at 11 a.m. and Sabbath worship at 12:30 p.m.
