The Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident in which a woman was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of a local church Sunday evening.

The 21-year-old woman told deputies that she pulled her vehicle off the highway to change a baby’s diaper, driving to the parking lot at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church on Methodist Church around 5:35 p.m., according to the report filed by the sheriff’s office.

The woman told deputies that she was robbed at gunpoint of $130 in cash by someone she didn’t know.

The case is still under investigation. Pasquotank County Sheriff Tommy Wooten said Wednesday that investigators are following up on leads, have a suspect and hope to make an arrest soon.
