Elizabeth City State University campus police are investigating a former student’s allegations of sexual battery and stalking against a current student at the Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Technologies.

The report filed by ECSU campus police states a 14-year-old female student at NEAAAT alleged she was a victim of sexual battery and stalking in Williams Hall on Nov. 6.

According to the report, a verbal altercation occurred during the students’ fourth period class. The report doesn’t contain further details. ECSU police are conducting the investigation because NEAAAT, a STEM-based charter school, is located on the university campus.

ECSU police Chief John Manley confirmed the incident involves two NEAAAT students and that his department is investigating. However, he declined to provide details about the allegations.

NEAAAT Chief Executive Officer Andrew Harris also declined to provide additional details about the incident.

“The incident stemmed from interactions alleged to have occurred between two NEAAAT students,” Harris said. “While the accuser is no longer enrolled at NEAAAT, the investigation is being handled by ECSU police. We are unable to provide any additional details at this time.”
