Drug suspect held on $2M bond

MANTEO — A Currituck County man with previous convictions for selling illegal drugs is being held in a Dare County jail in lieu of a $2 million bond following his arrest on felony drug charges.
Sean Taylor Morris, 30, of the 100 block of Sandy Road, is charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver illegal drugs, and maintaining a vehicle for the use or sale of illegal drugs.
A spokesman for the Dare County Sheriff’s Office said Morris was arrested by Dare Narcotics Task Force agents on Dec. 1 as part of a probe into the illegal distribution of prescription medications.
N.C. Public Safety records show Morris has a record of convictions in Pitt County dating to August 2009, most recently for common law robbery in July 2013. He served 3½ years in prison for that conviction.
Morris also has convictions for possession of illegal drugs, possession with intent to sell drugs, selling illegal drugs, obtaining drugs by fraud and operating a vehicle without a license.
State court records show Morris also has a list of drug-related charges pending in Pitt County District Court.
