Pasquotank County High School is currently without its principal.
PCHS Principal Bryan Ruffin is on “self-selected sick leave,” Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools Superintendent Larry Cartner said in a brief email late Friday afternoon when asked about Ruffin’s status.
It was not clear how long Ruffin has been away from the school or when he’s expected to return.
Cartner said while he could not discuss the reasons why Ruffin is not at Pasquotank High, there has been no change to Ruffin’s position classification or status.
Ruffin took over at Pasquotank County High at the beginning of July. He previously had been principal of Hertford Early College High School just outside of Ahoskie.
