Releasing balloons, doves into the air not environmentally sound
Sunday, January 20, 2019
With all the talk now about not using plastic straws there are two problems we can remove with little effort.
One is the releasing of balloons into the air. Now don’t hate me for this: I understand the meaning behind the balloons’ release. However, when these balloons fall to earth, land or water, they cause problems to our wildlife, and because we don’t know about it, we can’t help. Our animals and fish are dying slow deaths because of balloon materials stuck in their throats and stomachs.
The second thing is the releasing of white doves for celebrations. These birds are land-raised, fed and protected, and on a sunny summer day let go into an environment they know nothing about. Where do they find food and shelter? Where is PETA? Please think about these matters.
