The event began at 10 a.m. by 1:30 p.m. about 1,250 people had attended, museum officials said. That's a great turnout for a rainy day, they said. The daylong event featured a petting zoo with farm animals, educational booths by Beekeepers of the Albemarle and the Master Gardeners, performances by Albemarle Early Dance Band and Out 'N' in the Cold, a food truck and more.
